Senior Software Engineer

Job Location: Bangalore, India
Responsibilities include
Design, Coding, Unit Testing and Documentation for a feature/module
Maintenance of existing features/modules
Working with Business Analysts and internal/external customers to ensure that requirements are understood
Estimating effort for new features
Production of accurate, unambiguous technical design specifications
Participating in solution approach, test plan and code reviews
Full ownership and accountability to deliver on agreed upon plans within budget, on schedule and to defined quality standards
Ability to work with little day to day supervision from project and/or line manager
Ensuring that all work is reviewed for adherence to the relevant development standards
Timely and accurate reporting of project status as required by Line or Project Manager
Escalation of critical issues in a timely fashion
Helping in improvement of engineering process and standards

Required Domain Experience
Demonstrated expertise in building, shipping and supporting innovative, scalable enterprise-class 3-tier web applications
Good understanding of J2EE, SOA/Web services, EAI patterns and long running business processes
Experienced in using at least one of the Java web development frameworks, such as, Spring MVC, JSF, Grails, Vaadin, Spring Roo and GWT
Experienced in using Websphere, WebLogic, JBOSS or TomCat application servers
Must be knowledgeable in at least one of the relational DBs (Oracle , DB2 or MS-SQL)
5+ years of overall software development experience, preferably in a product development company
BE/B. Tech in CS, ECE, IT or Computer applications

Desired Domain Experience
Expertise in building multi-channel solutions for desktop, tablets and smart phones
Prior experience in building multi-tenanted cloud hosted applications
Prior experience in Agile/Scrum and secure development methodologies
Financial services software development
M.Tech/M.E. in CS, ECE or IT

Required Skills
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Brilliant written, verbal and telephonic communication skills
Ability to shape ideas and opinions through proper communications and networking with key stakeholders using ones knowledge and experience.
